Software Engineer – Backend Development

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineer specialized in backend development to join our enterprise banking team in Abu Dhabi. You will design and deliver secure, high‑performance services using Java, Spring Boot and cloud‑native technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain micro‑service based backend applications with Java and Spring Boot.
• Build secure RESTful APIs and middleware following Test‑Driven Development (TDD) practices.
• Implement event‑driven solutions using Kafka and integrate with AWS services such as Lambda, EKS, SNS, SQS, KMS, Secrets Manager and ElastiCache.
• Manage source code in GitHub, configure GitHub Actions pipelines and enforce security policies.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments and production monitoring.
• Write comprehensive JUnit test suites, resolve security findings and apply secure coding standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong understanding of micro‑services architecture and cloud‑native design.
• Experience working in an Agile, DevSecOps environment.
