Specialist Child Psychiatry

About the role

NMC Healthcare is recruiting a Specialist Child Psychiatrist for Abu Dhabi. The role delivers professional, ethical and high-quality clinical care while managing clinical risks, complying with governance standards and keeping accurate medical records. It also calls for continuous professional development and ethical, responsible clinical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, professional and ethical clinical services to patients efficiently and effectively.
• Monitor and manage clinical risks linked to direct patient care and ensure compliance with clinical governance and quality management standards.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support continuous quality improvement.
• Develop and implement work assignments, on-call schedules and vacation schedules for department staff, supervise their care delivery and give guidance on patient care when needed.
• Develop and promote standards of care, implement peer review and provide annual and ongoing feedback.
• Work with committees to develop policies and procedures for psychiatric patients, and exercise leadership and interpersonal skills with staff, colleagues and management.
• Keep patient information confidential, write timely assessments and reports, and perform other duties assigned by the Medical Director.
• Comply with occupational safety and health requirements, attend training and drills, and follow infection prevention and control measures such as strict hand hygiene.

Required profile

• At least 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience at specialist level, including at least 1 year in a Tier 1 country as defined by the UAE healthcare regulator.
• Basic medical degree and a recognised specialty qualification (fellowship or diploma).
• Certification and registration in a specialty recognised by the UAE authority, with eligibility for registration.
• Valid life support certification (e.g. BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).
