Specialist Consultant – Colon & Rectal Surgery (Government Facility)

About the role

A leading Government Healthcare Facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Specialist / Consultant – Colon and Rectal Surgery to join its specialized surgical team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care for patients with colorectal and anorectal conditions, managing both routine and complex cases and delivering high‑quality surgical care in a multidisciplinary hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of colorectal, rectal, anal and pelvic conditions.
• Perform colorectal surgical procedures using open, laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques.
• Manage complex cases such as colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease and anorectal disorders.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments, develop individualized treatment plans and provide post‑operative follow‑up care.
• Handle emergency colorectal surgical cases when required.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery or related field.
• Relevant specialist or consultant‑level experience, preferably in a tertiary, teaching or government hospital.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and teamwork skills.
