Specialist & Consultant Endocrinologist

About the role

The Endocrinology department seeks a qualified Specialist & Consultant Endocrinologist to deliver comprehensive patient care, lead clinical initiatives, and mentor junior staff. The role involves direct patient management, collaborative treatment planning, and participation in quality improvement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, take histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Prescribe and administer medication, therapy, and perform necessary procedures or surgeries related to endocrinology.
• Liaise with other medical specialists, departments, and support services to ensure holistic patient care.
• Document all clinical information accurately and timely in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities.
• Provide instruction, guidance, and supervision to junior medical staff, residents, and students.
• Communicate clinical information compassionately to patients and families, obtaining informed consent as required.
• Adhere to hospital policies, DOH regulations, occupational health and safety, and infection control protocols.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completion of a structured clinical residency or fellowship in endocrinology.
• Minimum 2‑3 years of post‑specialization clinical experience.
• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi license or eligibility letter, and current license from the country of last practice.
• Certificate of Good Standing from the relevant licensing authority.
• Successful completion of the DOH licensing exam.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
