Specialist Endocrinology Physician

About the role

SEHA Clinics in Al Ain is recruiting a Specialist Endocrinology Physician. The post holder shares the Consultant's responsibility for delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care, sets an example of clinical excellence in the division and contributes to the supervision and training of junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the division's medical coverage and attend divisional meetings as invited
• Diagnose and treat patients according to best-practice standards, under the supervision of the Consultant
• Lead ward rounds, review investigations regularly and modify treatment as needed
• Document clinical information accurately and in a timely way
• Liaise with other specialties, support multidisciplinary meetings and prepare patients for procedures, including obtaining informed consent
• Accept clinically appropriate referrals from emergency, primary care, other departments, walk-in patients and other hospitals
• Take part in out-of-hours on-call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays
• Communicate clinical information to patients and their families with consent, and promote teamwork
• Support quality improvement, audit and the reporting and investigation of untoward incidents
• Promote clinical research and publication, and supervise and instruct junior medical staff

Required profile

• Tier 1: no additional experience after board certification
• Tier 2: at least 2 years of clinical experience after qualification in an internationally accredited institute
• Tier 3: at least 3 years of clinical experience as a Specialist after qualification in an internationally accredited institute
• UAE nationals: no additional experience after board certification
• UAE and non-UAE nationals enrolled in HAAD-accredited residency programmes: no experience required after board certification
