Specialist - Internal Shariah Control

About the role

The Specialist – Internal Shariah Control will support the Head of Shariah Compliance & International in overseeing Shariah compliance across FAB Group’s Islamic banking activities. The role ensures that all operations, both domestic and offshore, adhere to the resolutions of the Higher Shariah Authority, the Central Bank of UAE, and other relevant regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor implementation of HSA, Central Bank of UAE, ISSC resolutions and related regulations across all locations.
• Plan and execute Shariah compliance programs, including framework development, training, gap analysis, reviews, and incident management.
• Provide day‑to‑day Shariah compliance advice to product, business, control and support functions.
• Serve as primary contact for internal stakeholders (Compliance, business units, support functions) and external parties (regulators, auditors, external counsel).
• Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders on Shariah matters.
• Conduct Shariah compliance training to foster a compliance culture within relevant departments.
• Support regular assessments and reporting on Shariah compliance status.
