Specialist - Obstetrics & Gynecology

About the role

The Royal Medical Centre Shahama is seeking a qualified Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology to provide high-quality, ethical clinical care to women across all stages of reproductive health. The role involves direct patient management in the delivery suite, operating theatre, outpatient clinics and emergency services, ensuring safety, compliance and continuous professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including spontaneous and operative deliveries, and surgical procedures for both emergency and planned cases.
• Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations and fetal heart rate monitoring, taking appropriate clinical actions.
• Admit patients, review histories, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with midwives and multidisciplinary teams.
• Respond promptly to emergency consultations and provide out-patient services as assigned.
• Maintain accurate medical records, adhere to clinical governance, infection-control and patient-safety policies.
• Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews and quality-assurance activities.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options and follow-up plans.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Current licensure to practice in Abu Dhabi and eligibility for the DOH Cervical Cancer Screening Program.
• Commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development and teamwork.
• Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
