Specialist Orthopedics Physician

About the role

SEHA Clinics in Al Ain is recruiting a Specialist Orthopedics Physician. The post holder shares the Consultant's responsibility for delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care, sets an example of clinical excellence in the Division and contributes to the supervision and training of junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage administrative and managerial duties: support departmental policies, take part in performance management, peer review and productivity reviews, ensure adequate medical coverage, attend divisional meetings and respond to untoward incidents
• Diagnose and treat patients under the Consultant's supervision, lead ward rounds, document care accurately and liaise with other specialties and support services
• Accept clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, walk-in patients and other hospitals
• Prepare patients for procedures, obtain informed consent and communicate clinical information to patients and families with their consent
• Take part in out-of-hours on-call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays
• Support quality improvement, audit and the reporting and investigation of untoward incidents
• Promote clinical research and publication, and supervise and instruct junior medical staff

Required profile

• Tier 1: no additional experience after board certification
• Tier 2: at least 2 years of clinical experience after qualification in an internationally accredited institute
• Tier 3: at least 3 years of clinical experience as a Specialist after qualification in an internationally accredited institute
• UAE nationals: no additional experience after board certification
• UAE and non-UAE nationals enrolled in HAAD-accredited residency programmes: no experience required after board certification
