About the role
The Specialist Physician supports the Consultant Physician in delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care within the General Surgery division. The role includes clinical duties, supervision of junior staff, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients according to best‑practice standards under Consultant supervision.
- Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
- Supervise junior medical staff, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate with other specialties.
- Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis.
- Support quality improvement, audit activities, and incident reporting.
Required profile
- Board‑certified specialist physician in General Surgery.
- Tier‑based experience: no additional experience required for UAE nationals; Tier 2 requires at least 2 years post‑qualification experience; Tier 3 requires at least 3 years.
- Commitment to clinical excellence, teaching, and research.
