Specialist Physician – Ophthalmology

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Specialist Physician in Ophthalmology to deliver primary eye care and manage a broad range of ocular injuries and diseases. The role involves direct patient interaction, diagnosis, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, take detailed medical histories, and address concerns related to eye health.
• Diagnose and treat ocular injuries, illnesses, and disorders, including prescribing appropriate medications and therapies.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, slit‑lamp examinations, and imaging studies, and explain results to patients.
• Develop and communicate personalized treatment plans, including lifestyle and preventative care advice.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records and charting.
• Consult with other physicians, refer patients to subspecialists when needed, and work closely with nurses and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with medical regulations and patient confidentiality standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree with completed residency and internship in ophthalmology or a related field.
• Valid state license and certification to practice medicine.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to lead or work within a team.
• Compassionate, patient‑focused attitude with a commitment to continuous learning.
