Specialist Piping Engineer – Offshore Water Injection Project

About the role

The Specialist Piping Engineer will lead the design, engineering and integration of piping systems for an offshore water injection project in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the full project lifecycle from FEED through commissioning, ensuring compliance with ADNOC requirements and international codes while supporting brownfield modifications and offshore tie‑ins.

Key responsibilities

• Lead piping design and develop specifications, datasheets, GA drawings, isometrics and 3D models for offshore water injection facilities.
• Perform routing studies, line sizing, pressure drop calculations and hydraulic assessments, considering space constraints and brownfield integration.
• Review and coordinate stress analyses, flexibility studies and support designs to meet ASME and API code requirements.
• Define material selections, assess corrosion risks and specify protective coatings for seawater and utility systems.
• Conduct offshore site surveys, develop tie‑in strategies, support shutdown planning and ensure minimal impact on production.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, structural, instrumentation and operations teams to resolve interdisciplinary issues.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning phases.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS and MOC studies to ensure HSE and quality compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree and Chartered Engineer status are advantageous.
• 15‑18 years of piping engineering experience in the oil & gas sector, including at least 5 years on offshore brownfield EPC projects.
• Proven experience with offshore water injection, produced water and utility piping systems, preferably with ADNOC and Middle‑East projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API, ASTM, NACE, ISO and ADNOC specifications.
