Specialist Smart Plant Engineer – Greenfield

About the role

The Specialist Smart Plant Engineer is responsible for the implementation, administration, integration and optimisation of Hexagon SmartPlant solutions across ADNOC Offshore greenfield projects. The role ensures effective engineering data management, design system integrity and digital project execution throughout FEED, EPC, commissioning and hand‑over phases while supporting offshore engineering teams in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain SmartPlant applications including SPF, SPPID, SPI, SPEL, SP3D and SPR, configuring project environments and workflows to ADNOC Offshore standards.
• Manage user access, security roles and permission controls, and support engineering teams during FEED and EPC phases for offshore greenfield developments.
• Develop and implement SmartPlant data models, templates, libraries and standards to ensure accurate engineering data capture across disciplines.
• Integrate SmartPlant solutions with SAP, AVEVA tools, document‑management systems, engineering data warehouses and asset information‑management platforms.
• Establish engineering data‑governance procedures, monitor database performance, conduct audits and data‑validation exercises.
• Coordinate with Engineering, IT, Digital Transformation, PMT, EPC contractors and vendors, and provide technical guidance and user training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of Oil & Gas experience and at least 8 years of hands‑on SmartPlant engineering systems experience, preferably on ADNOC or other major NOC offshore greenfield projects.
• Proven experience supporting FEED, EPC, commissioning and project hand‑over phases and familiarity with ADNOC Offshore engineering standards.
• Strong stakeholder‑management, data‑governance and analytical skills, with the ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams.
