Sports Medicine Specialist

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is looking for an experienced Sports Medicine Specialist to diagnose, treat and prevent sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. The specialist helps athletes and active people return safely to their activities through injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-sport assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, including ligament injuries, muscle strains, tendon disorders, joint injuries and overuse injuries.
• Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans and evaluate athletes' fitness, performance and readiness to return to sport.
• Provide non-surgical management and coordinate surgical referrals when needed.
• Perform musculoskeletal assessments and diagnostic procedures, and advise patients on injury prevention, exercise prescription and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with physiotherapists, orthopedic specialists and rehabilitation professionals, monitor recovery and provide follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and uphold high standards of patient care.

Required profile

• MBBS or an equivalent internationally recognized primary medical qualification.
• Master's degree, postgraduate specialist qualification, fellowship or equivalent in Sports Medicine or a related specialty.
• At least 3 years of post-specialization clinical experience preferred.
• Strong experience managing sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication and patient-management skills.
