Staff Nurse – Burns (Operating Room)

About the role

The Staff Nurse – Burns (Operating Room) provides comprehensive nursing care for patients with burn injuries, coordinating direct care, education and transitions across the continuum. Working within SSMC’s mission and the UAE nursing code, the role ensures safe, evidence‑based practice in a high‑acuity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse comprehensive assessment data (physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, spiritual) to identify diagnoses and potential risks.
• Develop, document and regularly update individualized, culturally appropriate care plans in partnership with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Implement evidence‑based interventions, perform treatments and procedures, and administer medications according to organisational policies.
• Coordinate care delivery, communicate pertinent information across all levels, and ensure accurate documentation in the patient health record.
• Educate patients and families on burn care, promote health‑maintenance strategies and facilitate smooth transitions of care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Abu Dhabi/UAE.
• Experience in burns or operating‑room nursing preferred.
• Knowledge of the Nursing Scope of Practice, Professional Nurses Code of Conduct and UAE health regulations.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using evidence‑based methods.
