Staff Nurse - Dermatology Clinic

About the role

American Hospital in Dubai is hiring a Staff Nurse for its Dermatology Clinic. The nurse performs a wide range of dermatological procedures and provides patient-centred care within the scope of practice.

Key responsibilities

• Perform wound dressing and suture removal, and blood extraction and centrifugation for Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
• Carry out ultraviolet therapy, mole mapping, iontophoresis treatment and HydraFacial treatments
• Support electrocautery, microneedling radiofrequency, fractional laser, broadband light, Erbium YAG and vascular laser procedures
• Assist in skin excisions, biopsies, incision and drainage, cryotherapy, patch tests and mesotherapy
• Provide age-specific patient-centred care, assess patients physically and psychologically, coordinate care plans and document in the medical record
• Maintain supplies and equipment, handle controlled drugs safely, and meet mandatory education and quality improvement requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (at least 3 years full-time) or a nursing degree (at least 2 years); UAE nationals are exempt from experience and clinical training requirements
• Valid registration as a registered nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia; UAE university graduates must complete 6 months of clinical training after graduation
• Valid license to practice in the home country or country of last employment
• Minimum of 2 years of recent post-graduate experience in dermatology nursing

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is stated as essential
• Patient assessment and care coordination and prioritisation skills
