Staff Nurse – Float Pool

About the role

The Staff Nurse – Float Pool provides coordinated nursing care across multiple units, delivering direct patient care, education and smooth transitions. Working within SSMC, the nurse upholds the organization’s mission, vision and professional standards while ensuring age‑appropriate, evidence‑based care.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyze comprehensive assessment data (physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, spiritual) to determine patient diagnoses and issues.
• Develop and modify individualized care plans in partnership with patients, families and the healthcare team, using evidence‑based practices.
• Implement care plans, perform treatments and procedures, and administer medications according to established protocols.
• Document all assessments, diagnoses, interventions and outcomes in the patient’s health record using standardized terminology.
• Communicate relevant information across all levels of care and ensure continuity between departments.
• Monitor resource consumption and adhere to professional codes of conduct for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

Required profile

• Registered nurse accountable for coordinating nursing care and patient/family education.
• Commitment to SSMC’s mission, vision, values and the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care across the continuum of services.
• Strong documentation skills and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
