Stewarding Supervisor

About the role

The Stewarding Supervisor leads the daily operations of the Stewarding Department in a hotel environment, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and safety across all kitchen and back‑of‑house areas. The role coordinates the team, manages inventory and supplies, and works closely with Kitchen, F&B, Housekeeping and Engineering to support smooth operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily stewarding activities, including cleaning, sanitisation and dish‑washing operations.
• Allocate duties, prepare work schedules, monitor attendance and productivity of a multicultural team.
• Maintain stock of cleaning chemicals, supplies and stewarding equipment, and control waste, breakage and consumption.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchens, storage, garbage and back‑of‑house areas to ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety and hotel standards.
• Support banquets and special events by ensuring adequate equipment, crockery, glassware and manpower.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards and maintain accurate records of inventory, breakages and cleaning schedules.

Required profile

• Minimum High School Diploma; hospitality diploma preferred.
• At least 2 years of stewarding experience in a hotel or resort, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Understanding of hygiene, sanitation and health & safety regulations.
• Experience with cleaning chemicals handling and equipment maintenance.
