Strategic Material Planner

About the role

The company is looking for ambitious, proactive and analytical individuals to join as a Strategic Material Planner. You will support the Engineering Supply Chain department in achieving the highest possible service level at the lowest total cost, preventing delays and cancellations through cost-effective inventory provisioning. You will hold adequate current asset inventory for all customers, manage spares for optimum utilization, and record and report accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor inventory levels, stock movements and stock turns to ensure optimal inventory performance.
• Develop dashboards, reports and trend analysis to track supply chain KPIs and enable data-driven decisions.
• Create and update demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends and maintenance schedules.
• Calculate and update reorder points in ERP systems for critical assets, balancing availability with cost efficiency.
• Manage daily, weekly and monthly reporting on operational and financial metrics, and measure performance against targets and budgets.
• Analyze complex supply chain challenges with data mining and advanced analytics, and turn findings into recommendations for revenue enhancement, cost reduction and better supply chain decisions.
• Lead supply chain optimization projects on inventory, demand forecasting, cost savings and process improvement, including documenting standard operating procedures.
• Identify recurring cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical qualification, with at least 5 years of inventory management experience.
• Preference for candidates with aircraft maintenance and/or supply chain inventory management experience.
• Knowledge of technical manuals such as MPD, AMM, CMM, IPC and familiarity with RSPLs is an asset.
• Self-motivated team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Expert use of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and SQL.
• Python and process mapping tools.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
