Studio Lead – Architecture & Design

About the role

We are seeking a senior Studio Lead to head our Dubai studio, expand our footprint across the UAE and the wider Middle East, and ensure the successful delivery of projects through our global network of design studios. The role combines regional business development, studio management, and project leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Dubai studio’s growth, act as senior representative for the UAE and Middle East, and build strong client, developer and partner relationships.
• Identify and convert new business opportunities using regional market knowledge and contacts.
• Mentor and manage the local team, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative culture aligned with global standards.
• Serve as senior local lead on projects, coordinating remote teams across London, Hong Kong, the US and other studios.
• Translate client requirements, regional regulations and commercial priorities into clear project instructions.
• Oversee commercial health of the studio, managing fees, budgets, invoicing and profitability.
• Present design concepts persuasively to clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with market and commercial brief.

Required profile

• Qualified architect or equivalent with 15+ years of experience, significant time in the Middle East.
• Proven track record of winning, leading and delivering mixed‑use, hospitality, residential, retail or master‑planning projects.
• Strong existing relationships with clients, developers, consultants and industry contacts in the region.
• Experience leading distributed teams and managing projects across multiple offices or time zones.
• Excellent commercial understanding, including fees, scope, programme, risk and profitability.
