Subject Coordinator – Math Department

About the role

The Math Subject Coordinator provides instructional leadership for the Mathematics Department at Gulf Education’s Sharjah campus. Reporting to the Campus Director, the coordinator coaches, supervises and evaluates teachers while driving professional development aligned with ENS guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Math Department in selecting, implementing and administering instructional resources.
• Coach, supervise and evaluate teachers, ensuring standards‑based instruction.
• Design and oversee standards‑based student assessments.
• Identify and deliver professional development for teachers and administrators.
• Assist in teacher recruitment and selection for the mathematics content area.
• Collaborate with curriculum heads, IB coordinators, and school leadership on curriculum delivery and accreditation processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or higher) with a bachelor’s in a related content area; Master’s may be in Curriculum Development, Instruction, Research, or related fields.
• Minimum five years of teaching experience in Mathematics (or related subjects) and demonstrated leadership.
• Experience with standards‑based teaching approaches and familiarity with Common Core, NGSS, and UAE National Curriculum standards.
• Proven experience with accreditation processes (MOE, ADEK, KHDA, AdvancED, IBO, ECIS).
• Strong oral and written communication skills (IELTS 6.5 or higher).
• Track record of leading change and improvement within academic departments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cloud‑based Microsoft Office 365.
