Regular or Visiting Faculty – Mechanical Engineering (2027)

About the role

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Sharjah invites applications for a regular or visiting faculty position starting in the Fall semester of 2027. Candidates may be considered for assistant, associate or full professor ranks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead an active research program supported by internal and external funding (regular faculty).
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering and related multidisciplinary programs (visiting faculty).

Required profile

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience with a substantial teaching portfolio.

Required skills

• Ability to obtain and manage research funding.
• Expertise in at least one of the three mechanical‑engineering fields: thermo‑fluids design, materials and manufacturing dynamics, or control.
