Supervisor, Rigging

About the role

This role supervises maintenance activities related to Rigging and Heavy Lifting, ensuring safe work practices in line with HSE requirements across the participating OPCOs (ADNOC Refining, ADNOC Fertilizers and Borouge). It also helps prepare procedures and work methods, keeps the maintenance programme up to date, and works closely with the OPCOs to deliver jobs efficiently, on time and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise assigned personnel and perform supervisory functions at the level set by RSI-CMS management.
• Receive planned and ad hoc job requests from the CMS Business Support Team for manual and critical rigging work, review techniques, allocate assignments and give technical guidance.
• Inspect completed work against defined procedures and coordinate rigging and material handling activities with the relevant functions.
• Supervise heavy lifting, manual rigging, material handling and high-elevation field lifting, monitoring execution and ensuring compliance with statutory, company and international standards.
• Review rigging plans with the Rigging Engineer in line with international safety standards.
• Take part in daily and weekly safety toolbox talks with contractor teams and ensure checklists for lifting activities and equipment are compliant.
• Carry out regular site inspections to confirm safe working conditions, certified equipment and tools, and use of required PPE.
• Contribute to department and section budgets, investigate significant variances, and implement approved policies, processes and standards while complying with applicable legislation.
• Design and implement tools and techniques to improve process quality and efficiency, and contribute to emergency response and MIS and progress reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7 years of experience in rigging and heavy lifting maintenance, preferably in a plant in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
• Familiarity with manual rigging arrangements, lifting procedures, plans and rigging techniques.
• Good communication skills and knowledge of business communication, industry standards and protocols.

Required skills

• Highly skilled in rigging jobs, with good knowledge of rigging signs and ability to communicate signals to the crane operator safely.
• Computer skills including MS Office and AutoCAD.
• CMMS knowledge, report writing, presentation skills and teamwork.
