Supply Chain Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Supply Chain Logistics Specialist will oversee the complete movement of goods for POWERTECH, ensuring that all import and export shipments clear UAE and international borders in full compliance with trade regulations. This role is pivotal in managing customs clearance, trade documentation, and strategic goods obligations for aerospace and defence projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all import and export customs clearance activities with brokers, freight forwarders, and UAE customs authorities.
• Prepare, verify, and submit trade documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
• Support export control compliance, monitor broker performance against SLAs, and liaise with the Logistics Manager and Compliance team.
• Validate customs duty calculations, tariff classifications (HS codes), and apply duty relief schemes where applicable.
• Ensure dangerous goods and dual‑use items are correctly classified, packaged, labelled, and documented according to IATA DGR and UAE regulations.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in customs clearance, trade compliance, or logistics within a regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of UAE customs authorities, GCC Customs Union provisions, and international trade agreements.
• Ability to resolve holds, queries, and inspections promptly to avoid shipment delays.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work closely with HSE, warehouse, and finance teams.
