Suspension Mechanic

About the role

As a Suspension Mechanic at Overland Auto Works, you will ensure vehicle safety and performance by maintaining and repairing suspension systems. You will work with a range of vehicles, from standard models to those equipped with electronic and air suspension technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle suspension systems to accurately diagnose issues.
• Repair and replace shock absorbers, struts, springs, and control arms.
• Perform routine maintenance to optimise suspension performance.
• Utilise specialised tools and diagnostic equipment for repairs.
• Test‑drive vehicles to confirm successful resolution of problems.
• Document findings and generate detailed service reports.
• Collaborate with team members on complex mechanical challenges.
• Maintain inventory of suspension parts and tools.
• Train junior mechanics on basic suspension maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; formal automotive training preferred.
• Proven experience as a suspension mechanic or in a related automotive role.
• Strong knowledge of suspension components and their functions.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex suspension issues efficiently.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication for customer service and teamwork.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy parts and work in a workshop environment.
