Synthetic Flight Examiner (Ground) - Airbus

About the role

Emirates Flight Training uses Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) and is one of the few full Evidence Based Training (EBT) operators worldwide. It is looking for experienced aviation professionals to join its Flight Training department in non-flying, ground-based roles as Synthetic Flight Examiner (SFE). The SFE conducts simulator pilot checks, licensing tests, instructor assessments of competence validations (AOC) and EBT training programmes as required by the regulator and in line with company policy.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct FSTD (Flight Simulator Training Device) type rating training and ground school, and recency training as required by the company.
• Conduct Fixed Base and Full Flight Simulator transition training, and instructor and examiner simulator training.
• Complete and submit detailed reports and assessments of pilots under instruction through the electronic reporting system.
• Recommend additional or remedial training for trainees who are not progressing at an acceptable rate.
• Advise training management on changes that improve efficiency, safety, quality and standardisation of procedures and teaching.
• Support ad hoc projects, course development and other tasks as required.

Required profile

• Hold or have held an ATPL Airline Transport Pilot License.
• Minimum 1,500 hours of flight time as a pilot on a multipilot aeroplane.
• At least 6 months of experience as an active TRI/SFI.
• Valid SFI/TRI certificate for the applicable type.
