Systems Engineer – Application Security (APPSEC)

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Engineer specializing in Application Security (APPSEC) to join Fortinet’s System Engineering team in Dubai. You will work closely with the sales organisation to design and position FortiADC, FortiWeb and FortiAppSec solutions for enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all technical aspects of the sales cycle, from RFIs through RFPs/RFQs, including project management and participation in proof‑of‑concepts.
• Analyse customer requirements, translate them into robust security solutions that outperform competitor offerings.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and partners, collaborating closely with sales colleagues.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of technical pre‑sales experience in application and network security.
• Experience with global or international organisations is preferred.
• Strong presentation and communication skills in English.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the network security field.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM or Fortinet NSE4/7 are a plus.

Required skills

• Web technology, application security, network security, TCP/IP, routing and switching.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, with both on‑prem and cloud infrastructure experience.
• DDoS detection, analysis and mitigation; routing protocols OSPF, BGP; DNS; multi‑layer L3‑L4‑L7 attack vectors.
• ADC expertise: load balancing (SLB, LLB, GSLB), OWASP TOP10, signature and machine‑learning protection, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, TLS 1.3, API security (OpenAPI, REST, GraphQL), bot protection, threat analytics.
• CASB capabilities: proxy, API, cloud SaaS (Office 365, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Box), cloud IaaS management, compliance reporting, SSPM, DLP, EntraID, directory services.
