Taxation Specialist (Emiratised)

About the role

The primary purpose of the role is to assist in preparing the Group’s UAE corporate tax computations and analysis in line with UAE regulations. The specialist will support the AVP in preparing tax schedules, coordinate with the financial reporting team on Oracle and SumX balances, submit tax information via the AmaraTax portal, ensure robust documentation for tax authority review, and address queries from regulators or the UAE Ministry of Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the AVP in preparing corporation tax schedules and analysis.
• Coordinate with the financial reporting team on Oracle / SumX balances and reconciliations.
• Set up and submit tax information on the AmaraTax portal.
• Maintain sufficient tax documentation to withstand authority scrutiny.
• Respond to queries from the regulator or UAE Ministry of Finance promptly.
• Support the Group Head of Tax and tax team on ongoing direct tax issues.
• Provide coverage for absent tax team members as needed.
• Monitor adherence to FAB’s direct tax policy and log tax gaps.
• Assist in developing and updating tax policies across business lines.
• Participate in new product calls and sign‑off approvals.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification in accounting or tax (e.g., ACCA, AAT, UAE CIT).
• Minimum first‑degree qualification.
• General financial accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Quick learner with ability to use own initiative.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
