Teacher - Social Studies (UAEN)

About the role

Aldar Academies is recruiting a Teacher - UAE Social Studies (UAEN) for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting in January 2027. The school follows a British curriculum with Lower, Middle and Senior Schools and is described as a British curriculum school in a modern building in the heart of Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed, working with colleagues to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements
• Build positive relationships with the school community, work with parents and liaise with curriculum support staff
• Organise classroom provision and resources, plan sessions for the whole ability range and motivate pupils
• Assess and record student progress using Target Tracker, use assessment data to inform planning and intervene, and give feedback to parents at conferences
• Follow the school's behaviour policy, manage classes effectively and act as a positive role model
• Take responsibility for a class's progress, work in a curriculum action group, support school events and run a weekly ECA each term
• Communicate with parents and carers about students' achievements and well-being using school systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with a PGCE or other teacher qualification
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience
• Previous experience working with students whose English is not their first language
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check; offers are subject to satisfactory references and police clearance
