Teaching and Learning Specialist

About the role

The Teaching and Learning Specialist will support the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in elevating the quality of instruction across its programmes. Working remotely, the role focuses on designing evidence‑based teaching strategies, coordinating centre activities, and fostering collaboration with internal and external experts.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director, Associate Director, CTL staff and faculty to design, implement and improve teaching and learning events and initiatives.
• Develop and publish evidence‑based guidelines, resources and best‑practice materials on the CTL website.
• Coordinate events, secure external speakers and partners, and manage internal communications to promote the centre’s activities.
• Support faculty development programmes such as new‑faculty orientation, professional development, peer observation and AI‑related teaching policies.
• Assist in student‑centred programmes including teaching‑assistant certification, student evaluation initiatives and peer tutoring.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of experience in higher‑education teaching, curriculum design and learning‑outcome assessment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in academia.
• High proficiency in written and spoken English.
