Technical Document Specialist – Automotive

About the role

The Technical Document Specialist creates, edits, and maintains high‑quality documentation for automotive systems, components and processes. Working closely with engineering, product development and service teams, you will translate complex technical data into clear, user‑friendly manuals and guides.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update service manuals, repair guides, owner’s manuals, technical bulletins and SOPs.
• Collaborate with engineers and subject‑matter experts to gather accurate technical information.
• Convert engineering specifications into structured, easy‑to‑understand documentation.
• Ensure all documents meet industry standards (ISO, SAE) and company guidelines.
• Maintain version control and manage documentation systems.
• Use tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Office and CAD viewers to produce content.
• Support training teams by preparing instructional and reference materials.
• Perform quality checks for accuracy, clarity and consistency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Technical Communication or related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in technical documentation, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Proven ability to work with engineering or manufacturing teams.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
