Technical Engineer – Port Vessel Support

About the role

The Port Engineer provides full‑time technical support and oversight for all support‑craft vessels used in the project, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and operational to avoid any project delays.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the technical condition of vessels and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Address mechanical, electrical and structural issues promptly, following up on observations, deficiencies and inspection findings.
• Work closely with vessel crews, subcontractors and internal teams (Operations, HSE, Marine, Procurement) to plan repairs, manage spare‑parts and support vessel mobilisation or modifications.
• Prepare technical reports, review work scopes and supervise repair work in port or dry‑dock, ensuring compliance with project requirements and marine standards.
• Support vessel inspections, audits and regulatory or class‑related requirements as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related technical field.
• 3–7 years of experience in marine or offshore vessel operations, preferably with support‑craft or utility vessels.
• Strong understanding of project operations, HSE requirements and safety management systems.
• Excellent coordination, communication and problem‑solving abilities, with the ability to work effectively with crews, subcontractors and project teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of marine systems (mechanical, electrical, structural).
• Experience in vessel maintenance, repair procedures and dry‑dock operations.
• Familiarity with classification society and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Marine Engineer certification or relevant statutory certifications preferred.
