Technical Inspector (Compliance & Safety)

About the role

The Technical Inspector (Inspector Compliance) carries out compliance inspections on maintenance and servicing activities so that they follow approved technical data and local instructions. The role also covers performance review, training needs analysis, program improvement and oversight of a local Compliance Monitoring section.

Key responsibilities

• Track and analyse Safety & Compliance KPIs to ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Analyse skill gaps and recommend technical training and personal development.
• Review safety needs analyses and improve existing compliance and safety programmes.
• Advise the Head of Compliance on improving maintenance, repair and operation services.
• Support customers, management and the workforce, and handle customer compliance and safety concerns.
• Initiate investigations, follow up corrective actions and notify authorities when service or product deficiencies are found.
• Manage direct reports, provide on-the-job training and set SMART performance objectives.
• Develop and manage assigned QEHS personnel and oversee the daily operations of the Compliance Monitoring section.
• Sign off on the release of products, work packages, parts and/or aircraft as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace maintenance, engineering or quality management, or equivalent.
• At least 10-12 years in an aerospace maintenance and aircraft operating environment, preferably military, including at least 8 years in a similar Quality/Safety function.
• Experience leading aerospace quality audits to ISO AS9110 or an equivalent military standard is desirable.
• Knowledge of practical implementation of aviation standards such as ISO AS9100 series, Mil Part 145, CAR 145, DCMA 8210.1 and USAF AFI 21-101.
