Technical Manager – Marine Services

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead our Marine Services operations in Ajman. The role oversees LSA/FFA, lifeboat, davit, calibration, automation and Navcom services, ensuring compliance with SOLAS, the LSA Code and classification societies.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement technical strategy, service standards and quality benchmarks across all branches.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for LSA/FFA servicing, lifeboat/davit maintenance, calibration and automation in line with regulatory requirements.
• Act as technical signatory for survey reports, service certificates and compliance documentation.
• Manage flag state and classification society approvals (DNV, ABS, LR, BV, RINA) including renewals, audits and scope extensions.
• Lead a multi‑site technical team, planning workloads, monitoring performance and mentoring engineers and technicians.
• Schedule inspections, certifications and servicing to avoid compliance gaps across client fleets.
• Track KPIs such as turnaround time, first‑time‑pass rates and client satisfaction.
• Provide technical input for tenders, quotations and scope‑of‑work proposals and identify opportunities to expand service capabilities.

Required profile

• Marine Engineering degree, diploma or equivalent maritime technical qualification.
• 5–8 years of hands‑on marine technical experience covering LSA, FFA, lifeboats, automation, Navcom and calibration.
• Proven track record managing flag state and classification society approvals.
• Strong knowledge of SOLAS, the LSA Code and relevant IMO/flag regulations.
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a marine service provider or ship‑management environment.
• Ability to travel locally and internationally as required.
