Technical Office Engineer - Electrical (Railway)

About the role

An experienced Technical Office Engineer (Electrical) is sought for a Railway project based in Al Ain, UAE. The role covers electrical technical office activities, including reviewing engineering drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved designs and railway standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical design drawings, technical specifications, BOQs and contract documents.
• Prepare, review and coordinate electrical shop drawings, construction drawings and as-built drawings.
• Prepare technical submittals, material submittals, method statements and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, civil, architectural, telecom and other railway disciplines.
• Handle RFIs, technical queries and engineering clarifications with consultants and clients.
• Review electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, small power, earthing and lightning protection.
• Coordinate electrical requirements for railway stations, operational buildings, equipment rooms and associated infrastructure.
• Review subcontractor submissions and ensure compliance with approved drawings and project specifications.
• Conduct quantity take-offs, assist in BOQ reviews and variation assessments, and monitor technical submissions, material approvals and procurement.
• Support site teams and resolve engineering issues during construction, and close technical comments and coordination issues on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction projects.
• Railway, metro or major infrastructure project experience is mandatory.
• Experience with electrical systems for railway stations and associated facilities is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of engineering standards, project specifications and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Strong technical, analytical and communication skills.

• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, RFIs and as-built documentation.
