Technical Operations Engineer – Advanced Capabilities

About the role

Anduril Industries is building a new simulation centre in Abu Dhabi to deliver immersive wargaming, AR/VR and training services for regional partners. The Technical Operations Engineer will join the Air Maneuver Dominance / Advanced Capabilities team, supporting customers such as EDGE and the Emirati Ministry of Defense.

Key responsibilities

• Serve in a customer‑facing capacity within the Air Maneuver Dominance / Advanced Capabilities team, working directly with EDGE and the Emirati Ministry of Defense.
• Develop, configure, test and deploy hardware‑software solutions for immersive wargaming, AR/VR and simulation demonstrations.
• Plan, prepare, execute and recover multi‑day wargaming exercises, handling equipment setup, troubleshooting and post‑mission follow‑up.
• Own deployment of Anduril’s AR/VR gaming engine and mission simulation software at events and exercises.
• Identify potential issues proactively and implement solutions with minimal external support.
• Build relationships across Software, Hardware, Logistics, Growth and Engineering teams to ensure rapid delivery of seamless experiences.
• Design and run user feedback loops and After‑Action Reviews to capture requirements and drive product improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering customer‑focused technical solutions across diverse operational environments.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a “healthy paranoia” for product readiness.
• Eligibility for country background check and security clearance.
• Willingness to travel, be based in the UAE and collaborate with teams in the UK and USA.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with AR/VR technologies and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with virtual servers, audio/visual equipment and desktop software.
• Proficiency in Confluence, Jira, Slack, Quip, MS Office and Zoom.
• Software engineering knowledge applied to immersive simulation platforms.
