Technical Product Owner – Retail (Dubai)

About the role

The Technical Product Owner will partner with business leaders to shape the IT, digital and e‑commerce roadmap for the retail unit in Dubai. Acting as the main technical liaison, you will bridge business and development teams, groom requirements and ensure the product backlog aligns with strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong partnerships with business unit leadership and key stakeholders.
• Advise the Product Owner on technical decisions and contribute to the House of Quality and product backlog.
• Define, manage and accept user stories, ensuring they meet the Definition of Ready.
• Participate in RFx processes, evaluate vendor solutions and ensure business fit.
• Support the development of business cases, operating model changes and budgeting cycles.
• Contribute to solution architecture, phase‑out plans and technical delivery alongside the Principal Engineer.
• Assist the Senior Program Manager and Scrum Master in planning, sprint execution and clearing technical questions.
• Break down user stories, specify acceptance criteria and reference UX/UI, high‑level and low‑level designs.
• Improve demand and delivery practices, procedures, methodologies and tools.
• Prepare and contribute to Business Requirements Documents for traditional projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related scientific field.
• 5‑7+ years of IT experience (Band H) or 7+ years (Band I).
• 3‑5+ years of business domain experience (Band H) or 5+ years (Band I).
• Solid e‑commerce experience covering both front‑end and back‑end technical solutions, platform migrations and code optimisation.
• Senior experience with system and data architecture.
