Technical Service Specialist – APC Process Optimization Engineer

About the role

At ABB, you will act as a plant optimization Technical Service Specialist focused on Advanced Process Control (APC) for customers in the UAE, Kuwait and Pakistan. You will deliver service projects, provide technical support and collaborate with sales and engineering teams to create value for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to optimization and APC projects from site surveys and benefit assessments through modelling, commissioning and value realization.
• Execute service projects at customer sites and coordinate with product teams across the UAE, Kuwait and Pakistan cluster.
• Identify tangible benefits of optimization solutions for Gulf and Pakistan markets, balancing technical requirements with customer value and business priorities.
• Provide technical support and problem solving in your expertise area via remote or on‑site service across any service category.
• Determine effective service applications, equipment and methods to develop new service offerings cost‑effectively.

Required profile

• Proven experience implementing advanced process control and energy/process optimization projects in energy and process industries.
• Ability to translate APC and optimization concepts into clear value propositions and technical requirements for customers.
• Experience with plant optimization solutions using APC and specialized performance optimization software to improve processes, reduce energy consumption and lower emissions.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with demonstrated expertise in Oil & Gas and Power & Water sectors.
• Strong communication skills in English and passion for customer collaboration.
