Technician 2 (Audio Visual)

About the role

Atlantis The Royal, part of Kerzner International, is looking for a Technician 2 (Audio Visual) to set up and dismantle AV equipment for conferences and events, and to help test and maintain installed AV equipment. The role provides technical services to events and internal clients, keeps equipment in line with resort standards and SOPs, and includes shift work.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and dismantle AV equipment for events and conferences, and assist with testing and maintenance of installed equipment.
• Ensure scheduled preventative maintenance is carried out on all resort-owned AV equipment.
• Implement AV policies and procedures, and monitor external contractors' setups to meet resort standards.
• Meet event technical requirements and carry out regular DB-level tests on the background music system, reporting weekly.
• Perform first-line maintenance, storage and cleaning of technical equipment, and keep a safe work environment.
• Maintain communication with the AV team, stakeholders and customers, and solve technical problems related to operations, compliance or safety.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of suitable experience in Audio Visual, including event projection, lighting and audio systems.
• Experience with distributed resort audio systems; first-hand experience with QSC is an advantage.
• Event or conference technician experience.
• Experience in 5-star hotels, aqua parks or recreational complexes.
• Fluent English is an advantage.

Required skills

• Competency on professional digital audio mixing consoles.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
