Technician – Airconditioning and Refrigeration

About the role

The Technician – Airconditioning and Refrigeration will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure the smooth operation of HVAC, plumbing and other building systems within Westin Hotels & Resorts in Dubai Marina.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; carry necessary tools and radios.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves and utility shut‑offs for equipment and buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies.
• Report daily activities and issues to subsequent shifts using approved communication standards.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical components and guestroom items.
• Program televisions, perform general housekeeping and engineering inventory duties.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
• Input air‑handler schedules and adjust temperature settings using computer systems.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry and energy‑conservation systems.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality and respect for company assets.
• Strong guest‑service orientation and ability to assist individuals with disabilities.
• Commitment to safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and proper handling of flammable materials.
