Technician – Rolling RM1,2,3,5 Hydraulic (Day Shift)

About the role

The Hydraulic Day Technician will operate and maintain the control panels of material handling, reactor charge/discharge, hot and cold DRI transport, de‑dusting and cement coating systems at our rolling plant. The role ensures safe, efficient production by following SOPs and daily operating instructions.

Key responsibilities

• Operate control panels for material handling, reactor charge/discharge, and DRI transport systems.
• Maintain process parameters according to SOPs and daily instructions.
• Coordinate with field staff, shift supervisors and the MH Department for equipment positioning and raw material flow.
• Execute preventive, corrective and major maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic breakdowns, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Record process data in log sheets and report hazards or near‑misses.
• Follow shutdown, start‑up and emergency procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Support the hydraulic supervisor in fluid and hydraulics maintenance and 5S implementation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in plant hydraulics or mechanical maintenance.
• Diploma in Mechanical Fitter trade or equivalent.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in a high‑pressure industrial environment.
