Technology Portfolio Specialist (Defence)

About the role

We are looking for a Technology Portfolio Specialist to support the analysis, road‑mapping and long‑term planning of defence and aerospace capabilities. The role will work closely with engineers and programme teams to evaluate current systems and identify emerging technologies that align with operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technology capability assessments across defence platforms, systems and supporting technologies.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date technology inventory and baseline capability data for existing programmes.
• Analyse emerging aerospace and defence technologies such as sensors, autonomous systems, electronic warfare, communications and mission systems.
• Develop 5‑ to 10‑year technology roadmaps that reflect mission and operational needs.
• Prepare technical briefings, analysis reports and roadmap presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers, programme teams and subject‑matter experts to validate capability data.
• Support technology portfolio governance, reporting and documentation activities.

Required profile

• Defence or military technology background (mandatory).
• Experience in defence R&D, military capability development, defence engineering or technology strategy.
• Familiarity with technology road‑mapping, capability assessment and Technology Readiness Levels (TRL).
• Exposure to aerospace, defence systems, mission systems or advanced military technologies.
• Degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Defence Technology, Systems Engineering or Applied Science.
