Tenured/Tenure-Track Computer Science Professor (Open Rank)

About the role

The Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking tenured or tenure‑track faculty at the assistant, associate, or full professor level to join its Computer Science Program. The focus is on candidates with strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and the ability to contribute to a rapidly expanding AI curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑impact, interdisciplinary research in AI/ML and related domains.
• Secure external research funding and manage research projects.
• Publish findings in leading peer‑reviewed journals and conferences.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including foundational AI/ML classes and specialized electives.
• Develop new curriculum content that integrates AI/ML with other computing disciplines.
• Supervise graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and research assistants.
• Collaborate with NYUAD research centers such as CAIR, CIDSAI, and CCS.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Outstanding research record appropriate to the rank applied for.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching or strong potential for effective instruction.
• Ability to obtain and lead funded research projects.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required skills

• Expertise in AI and Machine Learning.
• Deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning.
• Knowledge of ethical and trustworthy AI.
• Experience applying AI/ML to software engineering, systems, security, HCI, robotics, or databases.
