Terminal & Vessel Operations Coordinator – Oil & Gas Trading

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Terminal & Vessel Operations Coordinator to manage vessel movements, terminal activities and cargo handling for an oil & gas trading business in the UAE. The role involves close coordination with ship owners, charterers, agents, buyers and internal trading, logistics and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel berthing, loading, discharging and cargo movements at terminals.
• Monitor ETA, ETD, NOR, laytime, demurrage and shipment status.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents such as B/L, COQ, COA and quantity certificates.
• Handle cargo nominations, inspections, sampling and execution of shipments.
• Track and control port‑related costs, freight, demurrage/despatch.
• Liaise with ship owners, charterers, agents, surveyors, suppliers and buyers to resolve operational issues.
• Provide regular updates to Trading, Shipping, Logistics and Finance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Shipping, Maritime Studies, Business, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in oil & gas, commodity trading, shipping or terminal operations.
• Strong knowledge of vessel and terminal operations, international shipments and cargo handling.
• Familiarity with Incoterms, charter party terms, laytime, demurrage and related documentation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Prior experience working in the UAE market (mandatory).
