Third Engineer - Mechanical (SCADA)

About the role

A Third Engineer - Mechanical with experience in SCADA systems is sought to support the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems on marine vessels and port equipment. The role assists senior engineers in maintaining engines, pumps and auxiliary machinery and monitoring control systems so that operations run smoothly and without interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief and Second Engineer in daily engine room operations
• Operate and maintain main engines, auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors and other mechanical systems
• Monitor and operate SCADA systems to supervise mechanical and process equipment
• Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and monitor equipment performance, reporting abnormalities
• Maintain engine room logs, SCADA reports and maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
• Support dry docking, inspections and overhaul activities, and coordinate with electrical and control teams when needed

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical or Marine Engineering
• 3 to 8 years of experience in marine, port or offshore operations
• Familiarity with safety and operational standards in marine environments
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with engines and rotating equipment
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
• Basic knowledge of engine automation systems
