Transport Manager – Logistics & Supply Chain

About the role

The Transport Manager will lead the planning and execution of the company’s transportation network, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods and people. Reporting to senior management, this role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on problem solving to keep operations running smoothly in a fast‑paced logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic transportation plans to improve efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
• Coordinate with suppliers, carriers and internal partners to guarantee timely deliveries.
• Monitor daily transportation activities, quickly addressing disruptions or issues.
• Ensure compliance with local, national and international transport regulations.
• Supervise and coach transportation staff to achieve high performance.
• Conduct regular safety audits and enforce safety policies.
• Optimize routes to reduce fuel consumption and improve service levels.
• Analyse transport data and produce detailed management reports.
• Maintain transportation management systems and related technology.
• Negotiate contracts with carriers and logistics providers.
• Manage the transport budget, controlling costs and maximizing resources.
• Implement fuel‑management strategies to support sustainability goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in transportation or logistics management.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for contract negotiations and stakeholder coordination.
