Transportation Manager

About the role

The Transportation Manager will lead UAE transportation operations, ensuring safe, compliant, cost‑effective, and reliable fleet and subcontracted services that support gateway, freight forwarding, warehousing and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and oversee daily road transportation across the UAE, including capacity planning, route optimisation, dispatching and driver allocation.
• Manage owned fleet and subcontracted providers, ensuring compliance with service levels, permits, documentation and performance standards.
• Coordinate cross‑border movements between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, handling customs, regulatory compliance and regional logistics partners.
• Monitor and optimise vehicle utilisation, driver productivity, fuel consumption and operating expenses to improve margins.
• Lead and develop transportation supervisors, dispatchers and drivers through performance management and coaching.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of road transportation or fleet operations experience, with at least 3 years in a management role within the UAE market.
• Strong knowledge of UAE federal and emirate‑level transportation regulations and cross‑border procedures with Saudi Arabia.
• Proven experience managing owned fleets, subcontractors and third‑party logistics providers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Experience using telematics and fleet‑tracking technologies.
• Ability to apply route‑optimization tools and analytics.
