Ultrasound Technologist - Night Duty

About the role

The American Hospital Dubai is seeking a dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to work night shifts, delivering high‑quality diagnostic imaging across multiple specialties. The role involves performing examinations, ensuring patient safety, and supporting the radiology team during overnight hours.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all requested ultrasound examinations in accordance with hospital and Medical Imaging Department guidelines.
• Conduct imaging procedures covering OB/GYN, abdominal, small parts, vascular, neonatal, musculoskeletal and interventional areas.
• Coordinate departmental quality‑improvement and education programs, attend staff meetings and contribute to unit projects.
• Schedule patients, evaluate critical and emergency procedures, and collaborate with radiologists to meet procedural needs.
• Carry out safety checks, assist with incident/accident follow‑up, resolve patient complaints and maintain a clean, hygienic work environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound/Sonography/Medical Imaging/Radiography or an Associate/Diploma with relevant registration or certification.
• Active Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with radiation, magnetic protection, safety standards and Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) requirements.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ultrasound imaging across OB/GYN, abdominal, small parts, vascular, neonatal, musculoskeletal and interventional modalities.
• Accurate positioning and technique for high‑quality ultrasound examinations.
• Implementation of radiation and magnetic safety protocols.
• Incident and accident follow‑up procedures within a clinical setting.
