Unit Head - Program & Project Management Governance

About the role

Lead the Program & Project Management Governance function within Technology Transformation & Portfolio Management, ensuring consistent governance, project assurance, and portfolio controls across technology initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and continuously improve the technology project governance framework, policies, standards and decision rights.
• Lead independent project health checks, quality reviews and assurance assessments, monitoring scope, schedule, cost, benefits, risks and issues.
• Own portfolio dashboards, reporting calendars and KPI monitoring to provide accurate management information.
• Coordinate governance forums, manage agendas, minutes and action tracking with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Develop and manage the PM Governance workforce plan, balancing UAE Nationals, contractors and strategic partners.
• Create development plans for UAE Nationals and staff, overseeing mentoring, coaching and succession readiness.
• Drive PMO maturity, continuous improvement and promote a culture of ethics and collaboration.
• Support strategic portfolio alignment, benefits realization and value‑based optimization for executive governance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in PMO governance, portfolio management and project assurance within a technology environment.
• Proven leadership in building and developing high‑performing governance teams, including UAE National talent development.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
