Unit Manager - Labour & Delivery Unit, Maternal and Child Health Care

About the role

Mediclinic Al Jowhara Hospital in Al Ain, UAE, is recruiting one Unit Manager for its Labour & Delivery Unit within Maternal and Child Health Care. The role leads and manages the midwifery and nursing team in providing patient-centred, evidence-based care, ensuring operational efficiency and positive patient experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team
• Ensure evidence-based patient care follows clinical standards
• Develop employees and create an environment that encourages team engagement
• Manage clinical and non-clinical resources efficiently to support safe patient care
• Monitor compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to drive continuous quality improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Midwifery or equivalent (Master of Science in Midwifery/Nursing or a related healthcare field desired)
• At least 3-5 years of senior midwifery experience, preferably in a private hospital (5-10 years desired)
• Nursing functional competence and ability to demonstrate and assess clinical procedures
• Ability to manage meetings effectively and apply quality management, risk management and cost management principles

Required skills

• Implementation of the five stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, evaluation)
• Presentation skills and computer literacy with MS Office
• Knowledge of UAE Labour Law, UAE healthcare regulatory framework and stock control principles
• Workforce planning and scheduling
