Upholstery Supervisor

About the role

The Upholstery Supervisor will lead and coordinate all upholstery activities for luxury yacht interiors and exteriors, ensuring work meets approved designs, high‑quality standards, schedules and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of upholsterers, sewing/tailoring staff and helpers, planning manpower according to production schedules.
• Coordinate fabrication and installation of sofas, seating, mattresses, headboards, upholstered panels, cushions, exterior sunbeds, curtains and other soft furnishings.
• Interpret GA, interior and shop drawings, specifications and designer requirements to ensure accurate measurement, pattern making, cutting, stitching, foam preparation and final installation.
• Inspect completed works, correct defects and ensure luxury‑level finishing, stitching alignment, fabric tension and edge quality.
• Collaborate with Interior, Carpentry/Joinery, Production, Design, Engineering and Quality teams to avoid clashes and rework.
• Monitor material usage, control waste, and coordinate procurement to keep materials available on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop, conduct toolbox talks and enforce PPE and HSE standards.
• Train and guide the upholstery team to improve workmanship and productivity.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical qualification in Upholstery, Furniture Manufacturing, Interior Fit‑Out, Carpentry or related field (preferred).
• 5‑8 years of upholstery experience with 2‑3 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
• Previous experience in luxury yachts, superyachts, marine interiors or high‑end interior fit‑out is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of luxury finishing and quality‑control standards.
• Ability to work under tight production and yacht‑delivery schedules.
